The Ironstorm storyline is set in an alternative reality where the First World War didnt conclude in 1918, but continued for 5 decades until 1964. The key character is a Western Force officer attempting to infiltrate the Mad Barons Research facility within a decimated Germany. Originally Ironstorm was launched exclusively on the PC. Rebellion was later invited to rework the game for the PS2 and then set about completely re engineering and redesigning it from the ground up to create a unique FPS.
